Poor But Winner!

Poor But Winner!

The first batch of five students from the Leadership University College (LUC) have already arrived Sydney Australia on 1st March 2009. Dr. R. Raashed the Chairman has made special trip to Moheshkhali to accompany them to Australia. "Mohehskhali Australia Education Bridge is now a reality" says the Chairman Dr. R. Raashed.

The first five are the winners in academic excellence competition held under "Poor but Gifted". They could not afford to study in Australia as their parents are poor and do not have the funds necessary for a student visa. Leadership University College has therefore, made special arrangements for them to be sponosored by Muslim Aid Australia Inc.
Dr. Raashed says with confidence "this indeed, is a special occasion for the five poor but gifted students who found the beacon of hope in the great sponsors of the LUC family". These "Partners in Aid" are (1). Al-Waleed bin Talal Foundation, Riyadh Saudi Arabia, (2) Muslim Aid Australia Inc. and (3) Society of Social Reform Kuwait- Bangladesh Office.
On 26th Feb. 2009, a special farewell ceremony was held for the five students at LUC. Titled as "All they Way to Down Under (Australia) 09". Attended, by all students, guaridans and dignitories, this cemenar was a launching point for the fist batch of LUC students. In witness to their guardians, the five students have also signed a legally enforceable contract to comeback to LUC upon graduation from Australia and serve as teachers for five years. By giving this contract the students made their statement of loyalty that "they will never forget their past and most importantly, they will never lose their way back home; rural Bangladesh!" Says Dr. Raashed.
